The clue is in the name!

We're aware that the option of having your Self Evaluation document written for you is now widely availble.  There are several agencies that will take your performance data and your old SEF and write a new SEF for you - without even stepping foot inside your school.  While we fully understand the burden of writing the document, is it beneficial to offload the process to someone who doesn't know the school as well as you do?

  • Free Schools are already using their freedoms to raise standards and support parents

Groups that want to open mainstream, special and alternative provision Free Schools in September 2013 can submit their detailed plans to the Department from today.

They will follow in the footsteps of the first 24 Free Schools, which opened in 2011 in record time.

A further 72 Free Schools are in the pipeline to open in September 2012 and beyond.

Ofsted’s new Chief Inspector, Sir Michael Wilshaw, has announced plans to introduce no-notice inspections for all regular school inspections from September 2012.
